I'm excited about the projects I have for the rest of summer--article edits, a dissertation revision, three indexes, and a uni textbook edit on a topic I love.

My next long opening is 8/26 (I do have short spots). What do you plan to have ready to hand over to an editor before the semester starts?

@medium Please tell me how you know who I am when, by your statement here, I am not logged in?

And do tell, why the f&!k are you spying on us?

The end of the semester is coming fast. I can help you make time for some much-needed relaxation and set you up for a productive summer, by providing expert editorial support with that manuscript you've been avoiding, feel stuck on, or don't know how to move forward. #academicsky

Note from a client this morning revealed she has never used track changes. She deletes strike-throughs and changes the red font to black.

Perhaps my website freebie should be a lesson in using track changes and a review of the Review tab?

It's rare something fits my librarian and academic communities so well, and also will make general folks laugh as well!

I've hit the point of being soclose to a few days off that to-dos keep interrupting my focus on the work that must be done before I can regroup.

I've filled two tiny post-its, in addition to the list of 14 things I already had noted for the down-time. Even my golem looks concerned I won't relax!

One of the most frequent Word workarounds I see authors "invent" is the block quote. There's no need to craft these by hand! Just insert the material you want to set as block, and tap this icon. (Right margin won't change, but that's OK.)

Simple! And your copyeditor will really appreciate it.

My farm box (CSA) suffers from an overabundance of peppers, which I have generally passed on to friends. Last week, I kept the jalapenos (one of three kinds of peppers in the box).

Bluesky minds, what do I do with a half-dozen jalapenos? (Other than put them in the freezer, as I've done)

I'm almost entirely unpacked, and it's time to start figuring out where to put my art. Challenge #1 is that I have no mantle! How can I display all my lovely 3D beauties when I don't have a mantle?? (This is the area I think needs the objects...)

This is a word I always try to replace with something ungendered. I always struggle to come up with replacement terms, so I'm sharing this cap from Word Hippo
