It’s happening! Our book swaps happen twice a year, and are completely separate from our used book room sales. Bring some books this week. Take some books next week! ❤️📚

My roadtrip starts today, so be ready for posts from some great southern indies! Nikki and Nicki and Ashley will be keeping RG open while I’m gone. Incredibly grateful for our little bookstore family! ❤️📚

Neptune has decided we are having a couch day, and who am I to argue with the boss? We’re here until 6 tonight! ❤️📚

“What if the biggest lie there ever was was that women are weak?” If you haven’t read the first two books in this trilogy, you NEED to read them! If you have read them, the final book came out last week, and it is pure magic! ❤️📚

As much positive feedback as we’ve received about this event, we have stalled out with tickets. Would more folks be able to attend if we reschedule to a Saturday in September or October? ❤️📚

Neptune misses going to work, so we’re going to be open for a bit on Thursday. Come see us! (Him, we all know you come to see him. 😊) ❤️📚

One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. As much as I disliked the last book I read because I disliked the main character, I just loved Buddy Lee and Ike. ❤️📚

Spent some time today at the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture, and also became a member on behalf of the bookstore. Both are tangible ways we can support some of our institutions that are threatened by this current administration. ❤️📚

I made sure to leave the bookstore yesterday with a new stack for my TBR pile (a couple of which come out next week)! We’re open 10-2 today, then closed until Saturday, 7/5. ❤️📚

No, this is not book banning, and I am not a hypocrite. JK Rowling gets to decide how she wants to spend her HP royalties, I get to decide where to spend my inventory budget, and the lady who emailed to tell me I’m a hypocrite gets to buy her books somewhere else now. ❤️📚

Is closing for good weather a thing? It is now! My birthday is next week, and all I want is time outside with my people and my pups. Come stock up on your books this weekend! ❤️📚

Here is what I am most proud of about this weekend: I did not order a single item of extra inventory to participate in Juneteenth at Carroll or Taneytown Pride. Black history, BIPOC authors, LGBTQIA+ authors - these are not just the books we carry, THIS IS WHY WE ARE HERE. ❤️📚

Busy weekend ahead! You’ll find us at Juneteenth in Carroll, Taneytown Pride, and at the bookstore! ❤️📚

We have so much history just a short drive away! The paperback of Tiya Miles’s award-winning book about the life of Harriet Tubman came out this week. Read it and join us for a special bookstore field trip next month! ❤️📚

Books are one of the best ways to understand our history, no matter your age. The bookstore is open 10-6 today. We’ll also be at the Juneteenth in Carroll celebration this Saturday at Carroll Community College. ❤️📚

Highly recommend subscribing to the @prisonjournalism.bsky.social Stories like this one are powerful, and not unconnected from our community. The Carroll County Detention Center has not allowed in-person visitation since Covid; it’s all virtual. We need change everywhere. ❤️📚
