... And the powers that benefit from "this system" require a ready labor force and voting body to keep it. So long UBI runs on money, and that money comes from Capital, Capital decides what shape UBI may take. To avoid this, we must slowly detach UBI from Capital, and attach it to a communal system.

Finally, when talking UBI, one must understand it through the lens of international forces. Much like how an Unconditionally Pacifist States cannot exist next to Warring States; a full Unconditional UBI cannot exist next to free market capitalism: this system platforms all earthly political might.

In this, one must plan the long game. 1st: a semi UBI "resembling" a service economy under the current system; 2nd. educate a new trans-UBI/work generation; 3rd. A full UBI self-sustaining generation and culture. This is a sustainable approach.

IMO, one can't drain the tax system of "free money" and expect all to deal rational with it. Misuse and relapse is bound to happen. Whole generations grew up under "liberal market capitalism-flavoured indentured servitude". To set them free, you can't just open the cage, you gotta ease 'em into it.

I feel ya! (It's just BlueSky, so I had to cut myself off at some point. :p) But the basic gist is: UBI is a community service, this can only exist if all contribute to the community >within their means<. The 1st goal is to create a self-sustaining system parallel to the current workforce. Then...

On top of that, such a communal mentality would best be introduced from elementary school onwards. Where elementary schoolers are educated on the purpose of UBI, and introduced to simple "internships". That are later expanded upon in middle school with actual internships. ETC. ETC.

I feel UBI would work best when it is paired to communal service. Such as, that when you are unemployed, the payout of your UBI is tied to the hours spent on communal duties, such as elderly care, neighborhood cleaning, and other such volunteering duties, co-organized by local groups and governments

IMO, right no workers are dependants on big capital. We develop a slave mentality with the intent to "add value to the community", but instead of investing our time into our actual community we are spending it for the betterment of multinationals and landlords. [1/2]

The pastor who wrote this was fervently anti communist and pro nazi, until the nazis began to pressure the churches... He learned his lessons the hard. It makes this poem so much more striking to know this, in my opinion.
