Hegseth said the rules of engagement would be reviewed “We untie the hands of our war fighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement. Just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for war fighters.”

The supply hierarchy is military > moscow > rest of the country. If the supply is already low in moscow it will potentially soon have more significant effects on military abilities too. + It will be a reduction in civil support for Putins most important power base

Since you you read my bio I'm way beyond that point after reading 100+ theatre plays during my time there.

I'm pretty sure at some point I'll be happy to read a good enough ML translation of an cool author anywhere in the world that would otherwise be inacessible to me

You are assuming I think that's good. I'm merely explaining the driving forces behind it.

Accuracy could mean 85% of people reading the text and not feeling 'it sounds off' and have comparable understanding to folks reading the original. All numbers are made up to illustrate the forces at work

Thanks for proving my point. EoS even work with 1% margin compared to the previous model. With humans we are talking orders of magnitude. Comparing sending letters vs sending mails/texts.

Kindle store is already full of good enough AI generated & translated novels already selling for actual money

You try to deliberately misunderstand what I said. 3 seconds + a few cents per page is essentially instant and essentially free compared to a human that takes 30min and 30$? It's simple economies of scale

Machine translation is essentially instant and pretty much free with good enough accuracy, lets say 85%. The question that matters is, is the text by humans at 95% generating the extra value it costs and worth the waiting time? The answer will be no for >90% of all texts

Because humans are infallible 🙃

Ja natürlich Sarkasmus, in Anspielung auf die "mostly peaceful protests" gegen ICE in Californien
