“Lone Wolf & Cub I-VI” (Japan, 1972-1974) were consistently good, too bad Tomisaburo Wakayama didn’t continue. An assassin & his infant son wander Japan seeking vengeance.

“Anne of Green Gables” was a heartwarming read, but she likely has ADHD. 😅

Phew finished the last great Chinese classical novels: “Dream of Red Chamber” (AKA “The Story of The Stone,” 18th century) translated by David Hawkes & John Minford. About a complex wealthy family’s extravagant lives and declining fortunes. Omg 30 main characters. Made me cry, unlike the other 3. 🏮

“Shogun” (USA, 2024) was good; clever Toranaga, such loyalty. Too bad I had to stop iaido b/c my group was involved in this production. 🫠

“My Melody & Kuromi” (Japan, 2025) was good; super cute. A sweets-making contest has unexpected consequences.

“The Rehearsal” (USA, 2022-2025) was great; season 2 was excellent. Nathan helps people prepare for upcoming difficult situations with sets and actors.

“Death Note” (Japan, 2006-2007) was ok; great first half but loses steam. Not scary at all.

“Mobile Suit Gundam” (Japan, 1979-1980) was a serious anime of non-stop action, cool robots, & many Star Wars references. Too heavy to binge.

“Sailor Moon Crystal” (Japan, 2014-2021) was ok; missing the friendship storylines of the 1990s anime, better Mamoru & Chibiusa. Condensed seasons 1-3 Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, & Sailor Moon S.

Currently reading A Mindful Year, letters between 2 psychologist friends sharing uplifting quotes & anecdotes. Even though I miss days, it’s been helping my anxiety. :)

After enjoying “A Gentleman in Moscow,” I was recommended “The Book Thief” by the same person. However, TBT is so heavy, I constantly feel on the verge of tears. Too similar to the current state of the world. 😭 Probably won’t finish.

“Severance” season 1 was great; so funny & weird. Season 2 was annoying; unanswered questions about Irving, second guessing Helly. Hopefully season 3 gets better.
