Emma, is a sorceress that is afraid of magic after some magical incident caused her mom’s death. She thinks magic is dangerous but accepts going to this academy to follow her twin brother and prove herself. On the way there, her magic surges out of control almost crashing down the plane she’s in.

ADHD here. I have a WIP portal fantasy. There’s a world on top of the Earth, same space but different plane. That world has been controlling ours. That world is where all the magic comes from. Between the worlds there’s this academy as a bridge between the two.

Dark is such a good tv show! I think is perfect (I love time travel but it’s risky for plot holes). I found the whole story satisfying but I have to admit I don’t remember much of the plot today. I just remember how it made me feel. It was definitely complex.

That premise sounds interesting. I find interesting everything that reflects the real world in a SFF setting.

Oh, my FMC caught the interest of those in power because they want to use her abilities. She definitely doesn’t like that because it brings back memories of mom, how she ended up dead because she was used too. She rejects to serve the ones in power even if things are gonna be harder for her.

I feel like Mistborn and The Stormlight Archives critiques the powerful. It’s a recurring theme with Sanderson. For S. archives the whole premise is what happens if the powerful were not always good and can they be redeemed when trying to do good. Interesting

I’m writing a fantasy. My favorite fictional leader is Dalinar from the Stormlight Archives. In my world of Entwined, there is a leader known as The Patriarch, he is morally grey and has done some questionable things for power and to ensure the royal family withstands.
