Delish. First time having mayak, my partner did a fantastic job making them! I did add some chili crisp after the photo.

Leo the Toyger is enjoying the new plant room setup. I think I'll have to get a cat bed for this spot now.

Someone was judging my progress as I painted the bedroom.

New Year, new mantle decor! I need a couple more big vases for the flow, but my collection is nearing completion.

Since I missed yesterday I wanted to share something extra special for day 18 of #artadventcalendar This is a stained glass lampshade that my grandfather made many, many years ago. He only made 3-4 lampshades in his life, so I'm very honored to have this one.

For day 16 of #artadventcalendar I am sharing this delightful ceramic crab by Northern California artist Tony Natsoulas. The hollow form of the crab was made by building with clay on top of wadded up newspaper.

For the 13th day of #artadventcalendar I present this mixed media (mostly acrylic) koi fish on canvas. I painted it years ago and it has lived in the bathroom of every house I've had since. Notice the camouflaged mandalas?

Today I'm doing an #artadventcalendar and #throwbackthursday mashup by sharing this monochromatic painting I did following another tutorial by Andrea Nelson Art on Instagram. This was a very quick piece, but it was a lot of fun and I'll definitely do more monochromatic pieces in the future!

Today for #artadventcalendar I present a photograph of jellyfish that I took at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska earlier this year. I love the contrast in this photo. What's your favorite animal to visit at a zoo?

Yesterday I got to tour a Kansas Wheat research facility for work. It was really informative and a lot of fun! Today for #artadventcalendar I'm sharing a pic of one of their growth chambers because plant breeding is an art as much as it is science.
A photo bathed in pinkish purple light. You look into a plant growth chamber and see two rows of shelves that have wheat plants in various stages of growth. At the end of the chamber against the back wall sit a step ladder and hose to water the potted plants.

This gorgeous quilt (pattern unknown) was pieced by my great grandmother and quilted by her sisters. I don't know when they would have completed it, definitely decades ago and probably before I was born. If she were still living today would be her 115th birthday. Happy Birthday, Nana!

I didn't have much inspiration today, so I decided to just goof around in my sketchbook for my addition to #artadventcalendar today. Played with a couple of techniques and worked on brush control.

The left page has a large five petaled pink flower with orange and yellow center in the middle of the page; the top and bottom have chains of green; and there is a multilayered pink and purple flower in the lower right corner. The right page has four greenish blue leaf shapes on the left side; pink, purple and green speckles that evoke the feeling of a spiky flower in the middle; tiny spheres of color clusters in the upper right corner; a large sphere of blended colors center right; and three blue shapes that are reminiscent of people in the bottom right. The artist was playing/experimenting with different techniques and brush control with no intent to create a cohesive piece.

I joined Bluesky today and found out about #Artadventcalendar This was going to be Christmas ornaments, but I decided to make multicolored bubbles instead. This doesn't capture the metallic sheen over them, but trust me, it's there. Based loosely on a tutorial by Andrea Nelson Art from Instagram.
