An optional one-year extension features among the clauses which also include a substantial clean sheet bonus. The 30-year old full-back has been at the Decathlon Arena for his entire career having signed his first professional contract in 2013 and has made over 210 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Dogues.

Decathlon Daily: Summer signing Josh Kane hit an 89th minute winner for the Republic of Ireland away at Kosovo in their opening qualifying match for next summer's U21 European Championships. Labinot Bytyqi (Rapid Vienna) opened the scoring midway through the first-half, with Simon Goode (Portsmouth) levelling in the 58th minute. With time running out, Kane took advantage of a missed interception on the edge of the box, took a touch to steady himself and then drilled home the winner which skipped-off the wet turf past a full-stretch Dardan Ymeri (Union Berlin).

LOSC manager GS introduced his three new signings to the media this morning after yesterday's transfer deadline day action. Soualiho Meité (#28) returns to the club from Strasbourg for £4.8m after ten full years away following a £7m move to Zulte Waregem in 2015 before heading back to France in 2023. Meité made 36 appearances in Ligue 1 for Strasbourg last season, scoring six, but couldn't prevent the club's relegation to Ligue 2.

The transfer window has closed for Ligue 1 teams and across much of western Europe, with Lille welcoming three new players to the club as four head out of the Decathlon Arena door, two permanently. LOSC U19 ran riot at home to Boulogne yesterday with a 8-1 win over their struggling opponents as Kingsley Nestor scored a fine hat-trick with the first and third goals of the game, and then the ninth and final one in the last minute. Khalid Aarab scored a brace, and further goals came from Tony Delporte, Ugo Lebrun and Abdelkarim Ferhat as Lille's youth team fired themselves to second in the league, level on points with Le Havre (top on head-to-head).

PSG and Monaco are the last two remaining sides with a 100% record after wins over Nice and Amiens respectively. Betancur, Almada and Mbappe got PSG underway on Friday night, while goals either side of the break from Diallo and Pavon for Monaco saw them win on the road. Lorient sit 3rd as the only team on 10 points, then Angers on 9, while Lyon and Reims are the other two undefeated sides with 8 points from four.

Angers sit level with LOSC on 6 points from their first three games, with first day defeat at home by Lorient followed by wins on the road at Troyes and Guingamp. Olympiacos and Club Brugge are two of the teams with one foot in the UCL Group Stage draw after winning the first-leg of their Playoff ties this midweek. Franco Soldano's goal midway through the first half was enough for Olympiacos to win at CSKA Sofia, while a Teun Koopmeiner strike early after the interval saw Club Brugge beat PSV. A late goal from Daniel Streuli gives Basel hope with the away goal despite a 1-2 defeat in Denmark, and Shakhtar survived the first-half dismissal of Douglas Luiz to hold Besiktas.

La Provence are reporting that Lille are considering a bid for Real Madrid goalkeeper Gautier Larsonneur as a permanent replacement for Mike Maignon who moved to Bordeaux in a £6m transfer last month. 28-year old Larsonneur has been at Real since a £1.5m move from Metz last summer but only made three starts in La Liga. He began his career at Brest, moving to Lyon in 2019 - winning Coupe de la Ligue - joining Nice two years later and then on to Metz in 2023. LOSC manager GS has indicated that he's keen to sign the player.

Two goals in three first-half minute from Brenner and Ederlane saw Brazil win La Superclásico over Argentina with a 2-1 victory at Audi Field in Washington DC. Former PSG striker Brenner, now playing for Jiangsu in the Chinese Super League, scored his first international goal with a fine strike half-an-hour in, and within three minutes of the restart Ederlane nodded home from a corner to double the lead.

Monday 18 August: Lille's U19 side scored either side of the interval to see off reigning national youth champions PSG, with Valentine Afolabi and Youness Abdellaoui finding the back of the net. The result lifts Lille ahead of PSG into 4th with 9 points from four matches. Le Havre, who beat Lille 3-1 last weekend, are the only team with a 100% record.

Monaco, PSG and Lorient top the table after the third weekend of the new season as the three clubs to boast a 100% record in Ligue 1. A fine finish from Xavier Chavalerin midway through the first-half and a Nicolas Pépé penalty five minutes after the interval saw off a Saint-Étienne team that came to the Decathlon Arena, huffed and puffed, but failed to blow much wind at Lille's house. Saint-Étienne head to the Decathlon Arena tomorrow in the third round of Ligue 1 fixtures, with Lille buoyant after their 3-1 win at neighbours Lens last time out. The hosts will be without new signing Alexis Mac Allister who was withdrawn from that win just half-hour into his debut for Lille after rolling his ankle, and he is likely to be out until after the international break at the beginning of September.

Werder Bremen have accepted bids of £5m from both LOSC and Eintracht Frankfurt for their 29-year old full-back Pascal Stenzel, who they signed from Freiburg for £3.8m five years ago. The German defender, with three U21 caps, had spent the entirety of last season on loan back at Freiburg where he won the 2.Bundesliga title after moving from Dortmund as a teenager.

Three third-tier teams are through to the Second Round of the FFF League Cup after tonight's twelve matches with Grenoble and Tours through on penalties, plus Béziers beating Niort 2-1 on the night. The R2 draw sees Tours and Béziers face each other for a place in the round where the Ligue 1 sides join in, while Grenoble will travel to Caen.
