Top 5 vehicles among Hispanics in the U.S. are Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, RAV 4 & Camry, and Chevy Silverado. By SCOTUS/ICE racist logic, ICE should stop/search every Civic, Corolla, RAV 4, Camry & Silverado to catch undocumented immigrants.

How long do you suppose anyone would put up with that?

Police in #orlando are arresting without warning anyone who tries to recolor the Pulse crosswalk or surrounding sidewalk in chalk. Gee, it’d be a shame if every homeowner chalked crosswalks at the end of their own driveways in protest, creating thousands upon thousands of memorials. Just sayin’….

What can a 19th-century painter and a 1939 film teach us about communicating social issues? Let's peek behind the curtain in this latest blog. www.rickchambersassociates.com/blog/pay-no-...
'Pay No Attention to That Man Behind the Curtain'
As a writer, I tend to lean on the written word. But I wouldn’t be much of a communicator if that’s all I relied on. Visual media can deliver powerful messages and prompt meaningful dialogue.  ...

How hard is it to show others that they are loved? Just a small effort can make a difference. Rowan and I tried our hand today by passing out free ice pops to people (many of them unhoused) on the hot streets of Kalamazoo. We served 84 treats and wished people God’s blessings. Let’s start a trend!

Sharing this heartfelt plea by my friend Chris Sargent, who leads the local United Way. Does calling your Rep’s office feel a little awkward? Yes. But I did it anyway. If it means people have health care, food, shelter and a quality education, I’m good with a little awkwardness. You can be, too!

Transparency begins with honesty and accountability. We’re unlikely to see much of that in the wake of #signalgate. Latest blog: www.rickchambersassociates.com/blog/signalg...
Signalgate: Is There Anybody Out There?
Back in 2019, once-and-future President Donald Trump made this pronouncement: “There has never been, ever before, an administration that’s been so open and transparent.”   While most will...

One of my favorite Bible stories is the one about Jesus feeding a large crowd of listeners with just five loaves of bread and two fish. It’s found in all four gospels, but it’s the Gospel of John that tells us where these meager portion came from: a young boy. www.facebook.com/share/p/1XCg...

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have profoundly misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Nothing wrong with feeling sad for the celebrities who’ve lost their homes to the fires … as long as we also make sure we support the non-famous who lost everything, those whose homes and livelihoods remain at risk, and the heroic folks fighting to stop this disaster. #LAStrong tinyurl.com/2vx3s6cu
The California wildfires could be leaving deeper inequality in their wake
The fires burned through a haven for generations of Black families avoiding discriminatory housing practices. Rebuilding may be out of reach for many.

Sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Carter. How he applied his faith to every aspect of his life -- firm and unabashed while equally compassionate, humble and service-focused -- will always inspire me. Hoping and praying that our current and future leaders will discover those attributes.

The shooting death of a corporate executive is a wake-up call -- but not the one a lot of folks think. Can PR pros take the uncomfortable step and engage the conversation? www.rickchambersassociates.com/blog/taking-...
Taking the Uncomfortable Step
Few tasks by PR practitioners are as tough as responding to a tragic death.   Yet that was the job to befall the team at UnitedHealth Group last week. A shooter gunned down Brian Thompson, CEO of...

If our Christianity causes us to say, “see how God can use King David even when he did horrid things!” to justify people in power we like instead of “Where is the prophet Nathan of our time who has been sent by God to call King David out for all his horrid actions?!” we need new theology.
