Interesting to see some companies scaling up 3d printing - in this case building a whole community of 100 homes this way.

They seem energy efficient and also very resilient to climate change - wind and fire would struggle to damage a home like this.

This is a brilliant show, right up there with Severence as one of the best. Very funny and love the characters.

Breakdown of how the US's tariffs figures were calculated.

Some of these numbers are very high, which will suffocate trade with some countries like China and Vietnam. US consumers will face extremely high prices. For NZ the impact won't be too severe.
What do the numbers behind Trump's tariffs really mean?

Using my energy meter and smart plug to quantify the energy used by various devices.

I started with a dehumidifier, the results so far are about 1 kwh per day, which costs just over 30 cents. It seems to vary surprisingly from day to day. Going to test the dryer next.

Another little DIY project.

Magnetic doorstop from Mitre 10 MEGA. Paint around the base doesn't match the size, and it's very messy underneath on the door, though not bad overall. Was surprisly difficult to be honest, though I guess you get better.

Looking at BNZ's Rapid Save account - interestingly it seems to offer both better interest rates (3.75%) *and* better access to your money (one withdrawal per month)

So I think I might be putting some money into a saving's account with BNZ rather than ASB.

Rapid Save is designed for saving, you can earn interest on every dollar in your account, no matter what your balance.
