RSPB unofficial. Exploring nature and natural things my own way. Saying the things that need to be said.
Like a dung beetle we work hard to live our lives just for someone further up the chain to stamp on dreams and squish out our existence. Faith in humanity lost. #dictatorship #gonesoon #wastedyears

Like this sparrowhawk predators stalk their prey from above ready to strike in the blink of an eye. Their smaller weaker prey succumbs to the claws of doom in order to feed those further up the food chain. Not all prey are rodents but some predators are ruthless rats.

When the 'brains' at the top change the rules to suit themselves and sing about how fantastic they are they need to remember at the bottom there is a fragile and spindley pair legs - but without those legs they fall off their perch!

Clarity ... a clearness where everyone can thrive and live our shared values. Except sometimes we're looked upon with a certain intrusivity and arrogance that they know better ...

So where does progression come in? All I see is regression.

Mud and water. Water and mud ... bringers of life. Life is not capitalistic greed. If you'd have asked those left behind or given a voice to those still franchised we'd have helped! So i'll look back and reflect with a pectoral sandpiper. #nature #unmotivated #voiceless

When ambition and lives are going to be crushed, you find yourself in a miserable world and even nature can't make you smile, small can help make the s**t stick a little less. I swapped the elephant in the office for a humble but very cute grey squirrel #worklifebalance #moneyisnteverything

Another foray into fungus ID with this orange peel fungus, fairy ink cap fungus and hares foot ink cap fungus also seen. Please do not attempt to pick any fungi unless you are certain of what they are. Besides they are vital to our delicate ecosystem!!

Shovelers scoop up today’s #AutumnArrivalSpotlight! 🦆

With their oversized, spatula-shaped bills, these quirky ducks join UK wetlands in autumn, swelling in numbers with arrivals from the continent.

Keep an eye out for their unique feeding style!

Wasp are apex predators in our ecosystem helping to control flies, aphids and other insects that would become a pest without them. They may annoy us at picnics but they are essential and an indicator of how well our environment is. This one was still hunting late in the season!

Fungi are fundamental to our natural spaces and our ecology. Not only do they help return nutrients to our soils by decaying dead organic materials the mycelium network they provide underground helps our flora communicate! There's around 15000 species in the UK alone! Pic Yellow Field Cap

When you're having a crappy day and you just need to be alone ... sitting, watching, listening and immersing helps. Just 20 minutes in nature is proven to lift your mood. And in just 20 minutes you might see a Marsh Harrier hunting! #mentalhealth #nature

Today’s #AutumnArrivalSpotlight shines on the Fieldfare!

Flocks arrive from Scandinavia, filling our hedgerows and fields with their speckled breasts and blue-grey heads.

Look out for them feasting on berries and insects. 🍒

It's unsettling to hear Keir Starmer's deregulation plans.

Done wrong, this will mean fewer protections for nature when it urgently needs more.

We support growth, we support the energy transition, but not at the expense of the natural world.

The state of our waterways is a major threat to biodiversity and our natural world in the UK. It's time to do something about it #labour Water utility company's illegal discharge into our rivers needs to stop now! Nature friendly farming will restore nature - the science proves its. #restorenature

Gotta be one of my favourite moths ... Photos never do them justice as they can't reproduce their metallic sheen which influences their name ... Burnished Brass!
