I got a book on mending out of the library last week and pretty much immediately returned it when I saw a sidebar saying that traditionally you would darn knits by hand, but not even "superstar sewers" do that anymore because it's sooo hard and time-consuming

in lieu of a working sewing machine, I have obtained better materials to darn two small holes in a beautiful mohair sweater I got at an estate sale
