A must read-the NEJM perspective by Califf et al re FDA vaccine policy. The highlighted quote is striking, as is this “Demands for ideological alignment as a condition of employment are irreconcilable with an agency whose strength is the pluralism of its expert views.” www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....

Having served my internal medicine residency at UCSF/SFGH 1985-8 at the peak of the AIDS epidemic in SF, like many peers I was drawn to this book. How absurd and insulting the US government is not commemorating World AIDS Day today

Screenshots of the CDC website with today's edits. The 2nd pic is the footnote. I'm not going to share the link so it doesn't get amplified but you can google it. How utterly F-ing shameful is this

On what is my last day of work in a 40+-yr oncology career, sharing a heartfelt, gentle gem from my favorite folk singer, Carrie Newcomer. "I Meant To Do My Work Today" from her 2010 album Before & After (don't worry, my music posts to continue post retirement) www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQfq...

I'm an oncologist and a musician and can't say I had ever heard of acute musical toxicity before.
