🇨🇦 I’m here for the news. 🙂 And the dogs.
Yes. A good reminder that even if we are not directly involved, we will be affected. The oil companies will not give us a discount. We need to push for renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal) to power our infrastructure at a minimum.

What does this mean for investigators and the continuity of research? Medical research is not something you can put down and pick up on a dime.

He did. I wonder how h the German translators manage his comments.

I get some wild comments in German Duolingo too. One lesson full of restaurant complaints. 😂 Someone over there has a sense of humour.

I am very much a centrist. Conservatives used to be pro small-government and fiscally conservative. Whatever they are now is not this.
May 16, 2025 at 1:48 PM
And they need a sensible leader. Poilievre sounds far too much like the MAGAs in the US. You can be the opposition without the name calling.

The conservatives were split, but the PCs and the Canadian alliance (reform party) merged in the early 2000s.

I’m glad they’re saying it outright. The buyer, then the consumer pays the tariff (not the supplier).

He actually did say Canada is your biggest “client” - which DJT would understand.
May 7, 2025 at 2:12 PM
I think DJT actually knows this - Also the “we don’t do much business with Canada” is nonsense. It’s all for the cameras.
May 7, 2025 at 11:52 AM
This is not their first time meeting. I believe they met in DJT’s first term.
May 5, 2025 at 10:51 PM
They have met before.
May 5, 2025 at 10:48 PM
I think it’s deliberate…better to know the devil you know. The conservatives could have picked another leader. This is now who they are.
May 4, 2025 at 3:20 AM
It’s because of the US they chose that path.
May 3, 2025 at 9:12 PM
Do you have a link?
May 1, 2025 at 9:16 PM
He has been to France and the UK already.

Amazing! 🙂

Probably not optimal, but not the first time it’s happened. Like you say, tonight will help settle things down one way or another. I think I’ve been over sensitized with US politics.

Can someone be prime minister if they're not an MP? | CBC News

I worked in the US for 20+ years and am dismayed at the Americanization of Canadian elections.
Canadians are free to join any political party and select the party leader…who does not need to be an MP.
April 28, 2025 at 10:49 PM
I recognized that you were Canadian. Me too. It bothers me when I hear people say “unelected PM”. That came up with Kamela Harris being the Dem candidate without primaries in the US election. Same with the use of the term “woke”.
