FF13 is a good game marred by some horrible pacing and story conveyance issues that bring the entire thing down.
13-2 imo perfected the battle system, and LR gave it a really cool twist. They both have their own issues but it’s a solid trilogy.

I was surprised how quickly I dropped Verso from my party considering he’s the “main” character for about 3/5 of the game. His mechanics just never clicked with me as fun.

I think the real takeaway from the endings is that the Dessendre family sucks shit and their drama is fucking up a lot of peoples lives.

I don’t think either ending is supposed to be the “good one.”
On the one hand, the Maelle ending is clearly going against the wishes of Verso and not moving on to heal after the tragedies of the real world.
On the other hand, the painting is full of clearly sentient beings that would be erased.
