I will add that many do not know what they want to do yet, and it is OK (I did not know that creativity was even an option until after I started grad school. I do use them to weed out complete misrepresentation such as I want to do therapy in organizations (not what IO is!)

This is particularly meaningful to me, as I have admired Dr. John Holland’s work for many years and have used his occupational interests work in my research and teaching.

It can be really hard. I found that initial work on zoom or (dating myself) phone calls, were better than nothing. Not quite the same as face to face, but it did help with feeling less isolated.
