We are glad to be part of the Oxfam Uganda Bi-Annual Partnership Forum happening now in Entebbe, Uganda with the objective to reflect on our working relationship in persuit of deepening the transformative partnership agenda and jointly reflect on our commitments towards #Compliance obligations.

Globally, there are 2,300 Bilateral Investment Treaties(BITs), approximately 320 treaties with investment provisions (defunct NAFTA and CETA) are examples. Investor-State Dispute Settlements(ISDS) allows investors tp sue governments over measures and actions that allegeldy violate the agreements.

Our MEAL Coordinator [Chelangat Mananze Kamshak] and the Project Lead-A2J [Fridah Musiime] are attending a Safeguarding Training organised by DKA Austria in Kampala,Uganda. It is important to always provide safe spaces for staff and communities where we work.

We are in Katikekile S/C, Moroto District training a team of pupeteers who will sensitize communities under the project "From Mines to School"funded by Oxfam in Uganda and European Union.Child labour remains a challenge in Karamoja mines that the project aims to address through puppet theatre.

During the 6th BHR Symposium in UG (Nov.4-5,2024), Mr. Bram Joanknecht stated that access to effective remedy is a core component of UNGPs.He noted that,states are obliged to take "appropriate steps to prevent,investigate, punish & redress"business-related human rights abuses within their territory.
