Finally managed to source a pair of M565 Deore LX to put on that Marin Point Reyes that's been haunting me in my dreams with all its problems. Yay.

Oh hey, welcome to the family. Trek 720 MT from 1992(?)

I just fixed a pair of Magura H22 hydraulic brakes on one of my trash bikes using this very syringe from this year's Halloween cupcake. (Using official Magura Royal Blood hydraulic oil) Total cost of "repair": 6,79 euro. Ze German word for this? "Pfusch". But it works, so whatever.

Hahaha... hahahahahaha... hahaha.... this so great... holy shit, this is too good.

The hype is so damn real.
November 6, 2025 at 4:04 PM
totally not overdoing this whole bike thing at all. But if 60 euros gets me this, why not.
November 5, 2025 at 10:40 PM
After falling for an online scam for the first time in 28 years on the internet, I'll just go buy this hunk of Italian steel locally in Berlin bc fuck it, why not.
November 4, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Well well well, isn't this a beauty. Nothing beats Giant color schemes from the 80s/90s.
October 29, 2025 at 10:35 AM
stocking up for the winter. or just creating a huge mess. depends. Giant Custom 1000 '89 incoming. Fingers crossed the seatpost isn't stuck.
October 28, 2025 at 9:53 PM
Best bit about ebikes being the thing everybody's buying these days is the fact tires are made for a higher system weight which makes them more able to survive under higher load from heavy people like my own fat ass + I can get these for ridiculously little money. Schwalbe can go get in the sea.

Marin Bobcat Trail from ~'94... she'll shine again! But for now it's just a heap of dirt. Seatpost moves freely after some convincing though so \o/
October 28, 2025 at 11:06 AM
Winter Project #47289191 Marin Bobcat Trail from '94 for the great price of free.
October 27, 2025 at 12:36 PM
imho best Shimano groupset of all time. Deore LX M560/M563/M565/M567 from 93/94. Nothing rides smoother and lasts longer at the same time. The shifters? Great, but only the ones that don't frikking break all the time.

Just got this Stevens Strada 600 for a whopping 50 Euros. 25 Euro buys a new cassette and we're off. Kinda crazy how some people buy 1000-1500 Euro bikes, ride them to death without any service and then basically give them away for "free". Easy 400 Euro sale after minimal investment and a clean.

Jam FM Berlin is the best at 11pm on a Sat night. (yeah, got the station wrong earlier ;))

they seem to be really cooking at the site of the new TSMC JV (ESMC) plant near Dresden, Germany - as opposed to the Fields of Intel near Magdeburg, where construction never even started after the new CEO came in. pics taken by my colleague Christian while passing by on the motorway.
