I’m not saying there was something wrong with Walz. (For what it’s worth, I like him). I’m saying it was racist for some to say Harris couldn’t pick something who was Jewish, and it was also illogical because everyone in consideration had the same or similar positions on the conflict

If I wrote in Mickey Mouse (my right, my vote) I don’t think I’d be bragging about not limiting my vote as people are getting dragged off our streets and disappeared without due process
December 8, 2025 at 1:32 PM
And, it is Trump, now, for both of us
December 8, 2025 at 1:24 PM
Yes, he was against protestors who threatened violence on others based on race/religion. But, his postitions- anti Hames; pro return of hostages, Israel’s existence, and a two-state solution, were the same Walz. My point is that the positions weren’t the difference many found disqualifying

Neither Oliver nor Stein came remotely close in even a single state. The voters of every state in which they were on the ballot, and in those which would have accepted write-in votes, overwhelmingly rejected them. They were spoilers, whose ballot qualification efforts were helped by Republicans

I look around, see what is happening to our environment and society, and know things would be better (not perfect but better) if Harris won. Nothing anyone is saying here excuses helping Trump win (people can justify their vote any way they want, but Trump told us what he would do and is doing it)
December 7, 2025 at 6:48 PM
We have witnessed the end of our democracy. The question is whether we get it back. I hope that process can start with the midterms but will only if we learn the lesson. It wasn’t the lesser of two evils, it was “we don’t think Harris is perfect so we will vote to help someone we know is terrible.”
December 7, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Generally, a two party system is beneficial, as it favors more moderate candidates with broad appeal (Trump reveals its flaw- extreme, under 50% candidate but with fervent supporters). But, even if one hopes for a system with viable third parties, we were not there in 2024. It was Trump or Harris
December 7, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Even campaign professionals who would like us to have viable third-party candidates realized that is (for now) a binary choice. With Trump in the race, saying/hoping/voting otherwise was a terrible mistake, and one that we are all paying for. thehill.com/homenews/cam...

I don’t accept that term for the horrors of what has, and is, happening to the people of Gaza. But, accepting you do, do you really think Trump is better for Palestinians, or Muslims, or the country in general, than Harris would have been?
December 7, 2025 at 5:45 PM
De la Cruz was not enough ballots to get to 270. This election was between Trump and Harris. That was the choice, everyone Trump is doing is the consequence.
December 7, 2025 at 5:32 PM
What, specifically isn’t true? Only Harris,Trump, Stein and Oliver were even on the ballot in enough to states to have, theoretically, a chance at 270. What states are you staying Stein or Oliver were going to win (or had a realistic chance at winning) to get them to that number?
December 7, 2025 at 5:16 PM
The request was for you to explain how anyone other than Trump or Harris could get to 270. So, no, you did not
December 7, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Please specifically show me how anyone but Trump or Harris could’ve received 270 electoral votes. We knew who Trump was, and we knew what he would do. Anyone who didn’t vote for Harris helped put him in power and shares responsibility

Orban was returnd ed to
Power in 2010, has never left, and turned Hungary into an autocracy. Our choice was Harris or Trump. Your vote was not a vote for democracy. I don’t think Harris is perfect, but I am proud of my vote. It might be the last true one I ever get to cast in a federal election.
December 7, 2025 at 4:28 PM
Do people really watch ICE roundup people on our streets and think “Gee, this is Harris‘s fault because she tried to win over some Republican votes?“ Or, see videos of people being murdered in the Caribbean and think “This is Harris‘s fault because she had an event with Beyoncé?“

Interesting read, but, of course, that’s not journalistic analysis, but an opinion piece by an activist
December 7, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Wow, you must be so smart. Please explain the electoral college to us in a way that shows this wasn’t a binary election with only Trump or Harris having a chance to win.
December 7, 2025 at 4:04 PM
Republican operators worked very hard to get Stein and Wet, on the ballot in various states because they knew it would help Trump and hurt Harris.
December 7, 2025 at 3:57 PM
No, but then what are you talking about. Votes for Stein or West were as much for Trump as those who stayed home.
December 7, 2025 at 3:44 PM
No, pointing out those people on the left who stupidity helped elect an autocrat (twice), as I hope it never happens again
December 7, 2025 at 3:43 PM
No, that not how it works. We vote for the House and Senate candidates directly. You are, I think, referring to federal electors in the electoral college, who vote solely for the presidential tickets.
December 7, 2025 at 3:41 PM
We are talking about a binary election. It was Trump or Harris. If you care about the people of Gaza, or Arabs or Muslims in general, please explain how Trump was a better choice than Harris. Trump was telling Netanyahu to “finish the job” and Harris calling for a two-state solution
December 7, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Trump told us what he would do if he returned to the presidency. We, the people who voted against him, weren’t okay with it - the people who voted for him were. Pointing out the stupid if that is the only means of preventing it from happening again. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023...
