I’m on the fence about this one because while there are plenty of confusing forest areas in RPGs, some like Chrono Trigger are very simple and the trope isn’t limited to RPGs.

After playing In Stars and Time, I would say you succeeded.

FF7 is an undeniable classic.

Have you experienced Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana yet? They might blow your mind just as hard in terms of excellent story, characters and soundtrack and they’re even older.

They did a shadow drop for Prime Remastered, so why not Prime 4?

Paladin’s Quest is definitely an interesting one. Still one of the most distinct RPGs in terms of visuals I’ve ever played.

I would save Spike McFang for AFTER one of the more challenging games on your list, because it’s super chill and laid back and fun. It’d be a good palate cleanser.
