US goalkeepers...sigh. I thought we'd have 5-10 top level playing in Europe. Sweeper keeper trend could be part of it. I wonder how the change in NCAA rules re: payment of players may affect poaching basketball talent. You'd think the spill over of talent would keep the pipeline full.

Reminded me of the 1970's. Growing up I used to hear about how this or that guy had a brother or an uncle who didn't get on the police or fire dept because of quotas and racial preferences. Then I'd ask what explains so many Kelly, Kennedy and Flanagan in the NYFD ranks? It was ever thus.
