Today, Spotify AI wanted me to broaden my horizons, “You might like this one by Def Tones; they’re kinda like Nirvana.” AI obviously not from the 90s.

Requesting a timeline mode for prototypes in @figma.com. Let users animate on-screen transitions with different curves and keyframes without waiting for the last interaction to complete.

Observation of the day: prototyping transition animations is much easier than prototyping text editing animations. Smart Animate is not set up to alter strings.

My boss, rightly, pointing the team to look at Dream Machine by Luma.ai.

Projects (files) are represented as threads with the chatbot.

Style has meaning; not taste. Here’s the perfect illustration:

Listen for meaning between the Cohen, Cale, Buckley versions of Halleujah. Cohen version is adult and tuff. Buckley version is sweet and young — and he might not get it.

An insight from a recent project: kids that use LLMs for homework will continue to use LLMs to solve bigger life problems as they exit high school and college. A lot of convos that would have previously happened on social networks will become “private” in every sense of that word.

Aside from hardcore tools (VisiCalc, Finder, MacPaint, GitHub, Photoshop, iOS keyboard, etc) Paper is/was the very best app ever made.
Had a similar approach with the Paper app—in-app settings to adjust every aspect (positions, lighting, shadows), state buttons to test transitions, and a way to send all values off to my team. Only way to dial in so many interdependent values and get things just right.

Recommendations pls:

Using AI daily in all sorts of mundane ways now. Midjourney for avatars and fake products. ChatGPT to write copy for products, and to make my own comms more concise. Perplexity for information gathering.

I’m missing AI that can produce great logos and wordmarks. #design

Somewhere — sitting all alone in a darkened room with a neck ache — someone is still using their Apple Vision Pro.

Frustrated by low quality sound from many modern Bluetooth speakers, I pulled this beast out of retirement. Can’t get over how good it sounds 🔊
