Making progress. The plan is to drop UV-curing clear resin into the portholes then sand and polish. I’ll use my vinyl cutter to make circular masks. This kit is ok, but it proves that ‘new tooling’ is not necessarily good tooling - a lot of cleaning up parts.

My 1:24 scale Seafire Mk.III is on loan to Sheffield and Rotherham IPMS and will be featured in their tribute to Eric ‘Winkle’ Brown display at Telford this weekend.
They’re a talented bunch and the display will be well worth a look 👍😊.

Ok, it’s done for now. It’s off to the Aviattic stand at Telford this weekend (if it gets there in one piece 🤞) and I’ll finish the details and do a proper job on the propeller when I get it back.

The alignment jig works well 👍. There are four photo-etched braces which go where the struts join the wings and, apparently, they’re a bit of a swine 🙄

This thing is still biting me, even in the closing stages. I managed to trash both front undercarriage struts while drilling for the bracing wires. Fortunately I have spares.

New toy - a 16K resolution 3D resin printer with a washing/curing unit. I need to find some space for it in the workshop now 😊

The nice man at Aviattic has kindly provided some alignment templates for attaching the wings and undercarriage. This will save a lot of mucking about 👍😊

About ready for assembly. I’ll do a bit of shading on the squaredels and rudder tomorrow when I’ve got daylight. I reckon I’ll make a jig out of lego to hold the wings and fuselage in place while I glue the struts on.
