I think the lesson is “the writers care more about being pandered too in the press room than merit.” The fact his personality could influence it in anyway says a lot about the integrity of the HoF voters

I didn’t get far in exhibition 33, essentially just past where you really start the game. That intro act was absolutely gutting. Never cried at a video game before

Im not sure how this relates to bowl games and opting out. ND starting with new coaches and a qb while having an entire summer to practice and grow is not equivalent to a school hiring an entire new staff 12/6 and going to a bowl on 12/27.

The only difference between ND and those other schools? ND didnt have either a new coaching staff come in or have less than 6 wins, making a bowl bid unlikely and thus not anticipated or planned for. Also, im not playing in any bowl? Also, ND fans are so sensitive and self serious.

Funny enough, USC is playing in their bowl and fighting on but Notre Dame is quitting and going home

Iowa state Miami. What an awful example. The poptarts bowl is beloved and this game was notable for the fact Cam Ward played 1 half and then sat out, which was unheard of. Additionally, Notre Dame doesn’t care about notoriety bc it’s freakingND. ND plays in the game above bowl and it makes headlines

Yes. More resources and better results as of late. If UConn wins 10+ games they are in the discussion for playoffs. If toledo loses at all they are out of it.

Is UCONN a more prestigious job than Toledo at this point? Certainly was when they were in the Big East, but it's been a truly awful decade and change aside from the brief run by the guy who just left. Toledo is stable and competes for the conference title almost every year.

Crazy that he has a .648 win % coaching a MAC school and is just now after all these years being considered for a more prestigious job.
