Dr. Harvey & the 8 Fallacies of Distributed Computing by David Boike was a fun, quick read. Fallacies are:

- the network is reliable
- latency is 0
- bandwidth is infinite
- the network is secure
- topology doesn't change
- there is 1 admin
- transport cost is 0
- the network is homogeneous
