Even in the ones where she and Lancelot flee to France the courts there will be brutal to her. French courts were all about her kind of marriage betrayals but one so huge because her husband being a king and it being so public that she would have to hide from society.

Definitely one of my favorite versions of Arthur’s legend. There’s been a few theories among my friends who are huge fans of this lore, that no matter the version Guinevere is ultimately not happy after her betrayal of Arthur. “A king without his sword! THE LAND WITHOUT ITS KING!!”
