I don’t think of story structure as just plot mechanics.
I think of it as ethical structure.

What choices are rewarded?

What costs are acknowledged?

What does the story allow its characters to get away with?

Structure teaches the reader how to judge the world it presents.

Rowanmere isn’t built for speed.
It’s built for patience.
