A handpoked tattoo of a schooner type ship. The tattoo is about 4in long and placed on the ribcage. A schooner is an iconic looking sailing vessel with two masts and two mainsails that are trapezoid shaped. Schooners were originally developed for the fishing industry and later used for racing. An 1800’s oil painting by Fitz Henry Lane. The painting description: Fitz Henry Lane (American, 1804-1865) The Topsail Schooner "Kamehameha III" in Boston Harbor, 17 x 24; framed, 25 1/2 x 32 1/2 in. Description: An image of a painting; it is a schooner sailing full mast on choppy waves. The foreground of the painting is small dark waves. The mid ground is a gradient of dark to light waves of the ocean with a brightly lit schooner floating above. There is a full-rigged ship in the background and a warm sunset with puffy clouds parallel to the waves. The juxtaposition between the water below (the waves) and the atmosphere above (the clouds) with the man-made vessels (the ships) sandwiched between, makes for an interesting and balanced composition with a delicate color palette invoking a sense of adventure, warmth, and comfort.
