Not all of it but it is a factor. This, plus the lack of awareness of what is going on around them, the lack of lane discipline (inc sitting in overaking lanes 10kms under limit), the lack of courtesy, the emphasis on hours driven rather than quality, adds to the issues. Aussies are poor drivers!

When Scottish people respond to the question of their nationality with "British", we will count you as part of the North. My Scottish wife, a Highlander, always says "Scottish" when asked where she's from. She still married a Sassenach though! 😂

I agree these things don't need to be on the roads, unless for work purposes. However another aspect of road deaths is the appalling standard of driving in Australia & the confusing roadsigns, speed limits changing every 5 metres means you spend more time looking at your speedometer than the road.

I have thought about this. When I am older & less steady on my feet, the cat is going. It's him or me! 😂

Good to see our leading financial newspaper is still spruiking for the tax dodgers rather than a more positive approach to actually benefit the country. Another reason why I always put this paper in the bin when I see it lying around. If you must read it, don't pay.

Govt may have done quite a bit in tinkering around the edges & fixing the easy stuff but lack of decisive action on housing, raising the rate, media ownership, resources tax & the unpopular mass immigration, whilst overseeing a growing equality gap has left me (staunch Labor) disappointed. Too timid

Too long without a break! They used to have an intermission when I was a kid. The lady would come out with her tray to sell you snacks and you could go for a pee! Cinemas would make extra $ from that. Another reason why home streaming is more popular as films seem to get longer, you can press pause!
