Am I recalling correctly a somewhat recent season where our defensemen contributed almost no goals? It's refreshing to see so much offensive impact from the back end.

Some of the best complimentary players to high skilled line mates are guys with speed and the ability to adapt to the play. Not every line needs top drafted talent to be successful. Texier is a perfect fit.

I wonder if the recent merchandise leak got Suzuki to settle his nerves a bit. He wants it bad and that might have calmed him down. Good knows he deserves to be on that team. He'll be a Swiss Army knife for them.

It really is a great story about allowing players to grow in the minors. Nothing wrong with a guy like that improving slowly and maturing like he has. Think he'll eventually be a perfect replacement for Evans.
