... And that could've been avoided. But Union have banned the person from the club and he's had a 3 year Germany wide stadium ban, and obviously other people shouldn't have thrown shit.

Maybe I didn't make my position clear enough that I don't agree with the way Union have gone about trying to plead their case, and I agree with why the game was awarded to Bochum, but I do think Union have been punished heavier for trying to do the right thing... 1/2

...It is completely up to Union to decide what they do, but officials are there to advise if needed - could they have done? I even said I didn't know if they even should, it was completely Union's decision. Reading that as suggesting the ref is culpable is, well, just not what was really said 3/3

...to advise a team they run the risk of a heftier punishment for trying to do the right thing when Union would've likely had a lighter punishment (game simply being replayed) for doing the wrong thing and taking advantage of the situation (which is somewhat unfair). As I said on the pod...2/3

First off, we've blamed the person who threw it multiple times in a previous episode, second of all, that was me and I never suggested the referee was culpable (for what exactly? Getting the person to throw a lighter??), I wondered whether a referee should know enough about the laws of a game...1/3
