Say what you will about America, but thirteen bucks still gets you a hell of a lot of mice.

My hot take: Narrator is addressing everybody in Armies of the Lord, and there are three "you"s.
After we buried you at sunrise (you = Adam)
With nothing you'd predicted coming true (you = Peter)
...
Sixteen to three now down to two
Soon it'll just be you (you = Narrator)

*cracks knuckes*

The first 13 die in the instrumental break in Fishing Boat

Adam walks into the ocean after Rocks in My Pockets

(They bury him in effigy)

Peter dies singing Lady from Shanghai 2

(timeskip)

Broken to Begin With is sung by the ensemble years after the Narrators' offstage death

Thank you, I'm amazing at coming up with Halloween costume ideas on the day itself when it's far too late to do anything about it

@yerbamansa.bsky.social has a great post-apocalyptic flair. The Way Things Are Going is a near-future climate apocalypse Jim/Olu longfic, and Nothing to Fear and Nothing to Doubt is a more fantastical apocalypse one-shot about Frenchie and Wee John

The story fades to black around 2018 as Ed and Stede's elder-care nurse Steak Knife presses play on The Reno Cure: the movie, based on the play that Lucius wrote in 1980... so then you can start over and wonder which one you're reading, the real story or Lucius's version?

And that's only like 1964. They've got a looong way to go.
