Rectangular cases are trickier to build than cylinders, but they appear to be more common among the extant pieces. Survivorship bias? Practicality? I'm not sure. I just make them.

Of course the hands will start to cramp when the leather is at perfect case.

This might be one of the best things I've made, but it doesn't feel quite right to sell it.
So I think that once it's done, it'll be going up for auction to benefit my local food banks.

A rectangular leather case held above a work table. Hanging loops have been pulled out from the sides. There is a subtle groove below the loops, where the stick used to pull them out has gouged into the leather.

A case for credit cards!
I really enjoy working at this particular scale. There's something very satisfying about it.
