ONE WEEK left to contribute to I Lost Something in the Hills!

We've had some very generous donations so far, but we need over $2500 more to reach our goal. Share and spread the word!

This project is more important to us than ever, and we can't wait to bring it to you in its best form!

Aesthetically, we're drawing inspiration from McCabe & Mrs. Miller. Robert Altman and Vilmos Zsigmond chose to pre-fog their film negatives, creating a murky, antique look once the footage was developed. This texture is a major reason that we want to shoot in 16mm.

Next influence for I Lost Something in the Hills is Stranger by the Lake!

Though not exactly a horror film, Stranger explores how ideals can obscure our judgement, and the dangers of yearning after the impossible. Its complex handling of gay male psyches is an important touchstone.

One month out from shooting I Lost Something in the Hills! To prepare, I've been revisiting our main influences. Starting with The Blair Witch Project.

Despite years of parody and imitation, this film remains a visceral evocation of being lost in the woods, hunted by the dreadful unknown.
