Completely agree. Against my better judgement friends wanted to visit last year; I went to be sociable.
I had to leave - couldn’t find my way to what I wanted to see, combined with queues and noise in the pyramid and the other tourists. There are so many other wonderful galleries, museums.

I loved having penpal and the earnestness of youth. Meeting them in real life was a huge disappointment (no friendship chemistry) not a jot …

Great piece thank you. As someone whose partner has been through the planning process as a self builder, and to appeal to the Inspectorate and planning authority found to have “acted unreasonably”… it is most welcome..& interested to follow you for more analysis.\
