Those days of having online third spaces seems like a thing of the past - engagement is so monetised, simply messing around online with your friends seems inconceivable on today’s platforms (maybe only tiktok remains with this spirit, if videos are your medium)

Even mundane moments need to meet the standards of being “feed-worthy”, or adding to the curation of an aesthetic personality that feels less human and more corporate.

It seems to me the life cycle of social media has reached a “linkedinify” phase. Everything feels like achievement touting in different formats. Instagram being the biggest culprit of this, where it feels cringe to post anything that isn’t a life achievement or announcement.

First thoughts, this seems to a kind of nostalgic place :)
