Or on the outside of your grilled cheese sandwich before frying for perfectly browned bread.

I'd change it to 75% of 60, then think of a clock and remember that three quarters of 60 minutes is 45 minutes. So, 45.

We had one at St. Mark's in Salt Lake City!

Personally I found that explanation confusing when I was confirmed. Didn't I already renew my baptismal vows on the first Sunday after Epiphany? And at the Easter Vigil? And a few other times every year for several years?

I recall that 144 is 12 times 12, divide one of the 12s by 4 to get 3, and multiply by the other 12 to get 36.

144/4
(12*12)/4
12*(12/4)
12*3
36

Reversing it to sing HOTRS to the Cleansing Fountain tune is pretty fun, too!

(...know I'm one.)

I agree with Evelyn. I'll just add that if you want one quirky side trip, Gilgal Gardens is a local sculptor's backyard turned into a city park. Where else can you see a sphinx with the head of Joseph Smith? But it won't be as informative as the museum.

Also, what are you looking for? History, art, nature? Weekday/weekend? How much time do you have?

Of course, stop in at St Mark's! @stmarksslc.bsky.social

FWIW the LDS Church History Museum is self guided, so it's easy enough not to talk to the missionaries. The daily Tabernacle organ recitals are good for a briefer Mormon experience. A lot of the other LDS stuff (where a missionary might want to talk) is closed for Temple Square construction.

Done, thanks! We do not need soulless content-stealing machines to have a role in The Episcopal Church.

No "Far, far away on Judea's plains"? Sometimes I miss that one, this time I'd year.

I remember noticing it pre-pandemic. It's most noticeable when the inversion is bad. In clear air you really only notice the light on the statue, not where it's coming from.

Sacred Harp singing is one of my favorite things -- so glad you got to try it out!

Same -- I love to see a baptism at any age, but I treasure the memory of my own full immersion baptism at age 8. Thanks for bringing it to mind.

Except for rye whiskey, where "spicy" seems to mean something on the clove/cinnamon/nutmeg spectrum of baking spices.

I guess we have to follow each other for that to work. Just followed you there.

I'm in a cathedral choir and I'm an okay pianist (can play hymns). Not a composition expert, but I'd be happy to take a look if it helps. Will DM on Twitter.
