I think you are right. A widespread general strike is the next step that isn’t civil war and outright revolution. Maybe the ex-presidents could jointly call for a strike…. I think that might do it.

Yes there will be infighting but someone will step in and take control. Probably with even more draconian tactics to compensate for their lack of personality.

Right. At some point he will declare martial law so that he can justify the election cancellation or takeover. If no major event occurs, he will move forward based on even the most benign event.

Our representative republic relies on our representatives doing the right thing. I don’t see that happening. On either side.

They don’t care who legally has the authority. They will do it anyway because no one will stop them.
