Yes, grid connections need to be accelerated but let’s remember two key points:

1️⃣ Planning and land rights are still barrier

2️⃣ Not everything in the queue needs to be connected (look at this graph we published last year which illustrates the point neatly)

In parliament this evening to hear from Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho and National Grid’s Alice Delahunty about the need for infrastructure to deliver net zero. Me thinks more to come in Autumn Statement.
