as usual, regions with fewest immigrants are most likely to vote for anti-immigrant politics

During the LA fires I naively wondered if the incoming POTUS might display some moral leadership in a crisis so I checked his socials and I only needed to read 3 words

are we watching different games?

You won't see a more clear red card all season. Lunging, out of control, over the top of the ball, studs up. Very dangerous

Huge swathes of Scotland are barren, with no vegetation. Grazing by sheep and deer is the primary cause. I wish there was competition from existing trees

The Little Ice Age was regional, not global, and there was not global warming 1000 years ago

Our current interglacial peaked 6500 years ago. Earth has been cooling since, until that abruptly reversed 150 years ago. We should still be cooling, but instead, we've started rapidly warming, because the greehnose gases we've emitted are trapping more of the Sun's energy

The Earth was warming 11k years ago. Glaciers were retreating. This enabled northbound migrations. It was caused by changes to the Earth's orbit called Milankovitch Cycles, which govern how much sunlight we absorb. These warmer periods happen every ~100k years, and are called interglacials.

Those gases are the reason our planet is rapidly warming, when it should be cooling. 1.4°C measured increase is not a 'rounding error'!

This shows the current interglacial, with its peak 6500 years ago. Please explain the rapid increase since ~1900

Perhaps a picture will help. Nothing here is marginal. Temps are increasing faster than at any point in Earth's history, outside of massive asteroid impacts or supervolcano eruptions. And we're approaching numerous tipping points which, when reached, will reduce our ability to control the increase

China is investing more in both renewables and EVs than the rest of the world combined.

Their coal consumption is falling, being rapidly replaced by renewables
