Oh wow! My uncles family changed their surname for a while. They subsequently called the next generation that name as a middle name. It's proving challenging! I think her family objected to the marriage as maybe coincidence but when her father died they reverted back to original name!

I don't tend to use Family Search too much. I have when searching for European links to follow. My own tree on Family Search is languishing unfinished. I mostly research on FindmyPast then cross check with Ancestry. How about you?
