some of these might just be coincidental but they could be worth a try if you are struggling.
from what I can tell though, this seems to be an AMD and unreal problem. the only issues I have with my 6900xt are device hung errors coming from Unreal engine applications.
others seeing the same?

my brother made a carboard stand to hold ours sideways. was able to access the disk tray AND the laser could read the disk.

oh damn, I had this game as a kid. our cheapo memory card was busted and would get corrupted randomly, we must have played through the opening 10 hours at least 15 times. That stupid desert temple still haunts me to this day

I hope it doesnt come to it and we can find a better solution, but it sounds like whitelisting is the way to go
