Oh, it’s true. There was an entire ’Anglo-Indian’ cooking movement, Brits who lived in India, then those who went back to Britain, and then Indians that went to Britain. It’s quite a fascinating food history. Sejal Sukhadwala describes it all so well in ’The philosophy of curry’.

Trained it Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara. Now Bukhara-Tashkent. Perfect choice of travel, Uzbek train service is superbe. On time, air con, affordable, clean, wider spaced seats than VR, clean lavatories, and service beats our expensive, cheap airline Finnair.
