Imported... some, tweets, hopefully the retrodating meant I didn't spam my 10 followers' timelines.
And as the first post here, have the first tank. Well some old thing anyway.

Not be the most interesting topic so I'll get to the point immediately, more in the replies. I noticed looking at what the Ansaldo Foundation uploaded of the Fortino Ansaldo-Magrini-Mangiapan something I have never seen mentioned before: The track units on it tank can pivot.

It is time to tweet this. Merry Christmas! 🎅

Calling on experts @PikeGrey1418
Found this M17 Stielhandgranate box in the grandparents house, Trentino, but I can't find any matching one online. The back is more damaged but I see "[]Wollersd[]", maybe Wollersdorf?

Also turns out it was 50kg.

A different kind of #Tankfest2022 photo
Why did no one tell me of the books tent before 👀

A small update on this, I found another photo of this turret in the Italian Central State Archive, along a bunch of other photos of the battle aftermath in the village. The archive sadly only indicates these as from the Russian front, summer 1942.

Sd.Kfz. 9 Famo and Sd.Kfz. 7 at Militracks. Amazing event, especially given how affordable it was to take a ride on these beasts.
December 9, 2024 at 1:01 AM
I went to Militracks last week and I have some stuff to share, like this Stug reversing into the museum at the end of the day. This is the first time I test some new microphones as well, the engine should sound particularly good.

Stug manouvering backwards - Militracks 2022
Stug manouvering after Militracks 2022 was over, getting back into the museum. This is the first experiment combining video with audio recorded from an Olympus ME-30W kit I was handed down, and the comparison with the original phone footage is speaking for itself https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/452932338377031680/977331191311110275/Stug_manouvering_backwards_-_Militracks_2022_-_comparison.mp4

Alongside heavier vehicles targeted at militaries, Thyssen Henschel presented in 1978 a series of vehicles for policing and counterinsurgency, the TM 90, TM 125, and TM 170. Only the largest, TM 170, would see serial production. The one shown here is the lightest, the TM 90.

Developed following the success of the UR 416, the UR 425 Condor was a 4x4 APC built by Thyssen Henschel starting 1978. The 1st and 3rd photos show an early version of the driver cabin with a square protruding side swinging hatch, the 2nd shows the production round hatch.

Something different today, Italian photos I bought showing buried tanks used as bunkers in 1941 USSR. The 3rd photo captions "Tarossovca", probably Тарасовка near Kiev, with 2 M3 Medium and an early Sdkfz 251/10. The first 2 photos show an M3 Medium turret... pointing at a house.

While the Luchs was built by Daimler Benz, other companies participated in the project. Bussing, Henschel, M.A.N., K.H.D. and Krupp formed the "Gemeinshaftsbüro der deutschen Lastwagenindustrie". 1st photo is their proto, 2nd is an early DB proto, the others are a late DB proto.

The Spähpanzer Luchswas a recoinnassance wheeled vehicle serving in the German army starting 1975, with the first official delivered on the 4th of September, although some had already been sent to training schools in the previous months. It replaced the M41 and SPz 11-2 Kurz.

Back after the holidays and studying for an exam I didn't take because I got covid, with the Ikv91. This was essentially a light tank destroyer in service in the Swedish army from the '70s to the late '90s on a chassis based on the Bgbv-82 and Brobv-941.

Who knows what firework you could fire out of this 🤔
It is past midnight in central Europe, Happy New Year!
It starts with this RS-80 MARS, originally a joint project between Germany, the UK and Italy before being abandoned, it carried six 280mm rockets with a range of 60km.

Great livestream by @saladeguerra. Edson Kiyohara and Riccardo Furlan talk about the 1988 UAE tank trials where they showcased Engesa's Osorio and show photos of the competing OTO offer, a Palmaria hull modified with an Ariete front and an Ariete turret.

Yes I'm gonna hate on it.
On people bringing scarcity where there doesn't need to be just so they can brag they wasted money, forcing a system that might become ubiquitous because they're sad they can't look down on others like irl.
Yes I'm gonna hate on it.

More MOWAG Tornado 2 images. To start, a comparison with the silhouette of contemporary IFVs. The version used is the one armed with an Rh-202 20mm gun in a Keller & Knappich turret, the same used on the German Marder.

MOWAG Gepard for #flattankfriday. This Swiss tank was developed in the early '60s for the West German Jagdpanzer Kanone project under the designation HM3, but having lost to Hanomag and Henschel it only remained a prototype.
