When I was a teenager, I wanted a dozen. By the time I got married and we were emotionally and financially ready(ish), it took us five years to conceive. Pregnant with my first at 37, we’re considering being a one-and-done family. Pregnancy is hell and kids are expensive. With age comes wisdom.

She also called their dog his “loyal companion,” which, in my grandma’s mind, implies she was not a loyal companion… 👀👀👀
