A couple of weeks ago if I told you Purdue shot 36% from the line and 17% from three on the road at Rutgers you would have expected at least a ten point loss. Rutgers is not a good team but I’m still impressed.

For clarification I’m not sure the percentages are the worst. They were 2 for 13 from three but the misses were the worst I’ve seen. So many that were not even close. Brick city!

Purdue fans have to be encouraged by how hard everyone played today. Best they’ve looked since besting Bama. 36 points from guys not named Loyer, Smith, and Kaufman-Renn. Team energy was high. Kudos to Paint and Co.

I think losing Zach Edey has negatively impacted Cam Heide more than any other Boiler. He is consistently lost defensively.

Boilers swarming the ball and getting boards. Forcing tough shots. Getting production from guys outside the big 3. Hard to complain. Expect some positive regression from Northwestern with 3 pt shooting and turnovers in the second half.

Purdue doing a great job so far of containing the dribble and keeping the Minnesota guards out of the paint. They don’t mind them shooting the mid range jumper.

I’m not impressed with Braden Smith’s first half. Many times he should have passed and didn’t. I understand he needs to carry the load but low percentage shots aren’t helping the team.

Raleigh Burgess looks much improved in his defensive movement. He needs to remember he can’t guard everyone though. The rest of the team is just ball watching.

There’s really nothing positive to say about Purdue’s play today. Painter has his work cut out for him. Need a bounce back against Toledo next Sunday. Have a great week and a happy holiday to all who celebrate!

Boilers getting embarrassed. Team might benefit from falling out of the top 25. Smith’s game has gotten sloppy since Purdue has been losing. Forcing it. TKR looks absolutely lost to start the second half. Nothing falling. Perfect storm.

Not a terrible start for Purdue against a much better team but they aren’t going to win if they get nothing from their bench today.

Purdue won the turnover battle but still turned it over too much to win the game. Aggies shot 40% from three on 22 attempts which is their best showing of the season from deep. The 7 minute stretch where Purdue got only 2 quality shots and missed them both was the nail in the coffin.

This has been a horrible stretch for Purdue. Been 4 minutes since they scored and feels like 4 minutes since they’ve gotten a quality shot. So many turnovers. Braden missed an open 3 and that was the best possession this stretch.

Purdue has shown toughness. Every time the Aggies have gone on a run and extended the lead to 8 there has been an instant response and Purdue has pulled back to even.

Sometime you gotta just take the bucket. Smith tries to pass to the perimeter and turns it over for the 5th time. Only has one assist.

Furst needs to start passing out even after an offensive board. He doesn’t have the strength to convert with multiple defenders even with perfect positioning. Been the story of his season.

Braden Smith is the only Boilermaker who has been consistent on defense. Making things happen and making the right reads. We are used to seeing this on the offensive end but he’s leading on both ends early.
