Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. So incredible. We were a small group of 8 with rangers and porters. Family with the silverback dad, some moms, youths and babies. We were feet away. Two of us got pushed out of the way by younger ones as they played.

Afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga channel between Lake George and Lake Edward. So many birds! I’ll post more as a comment to this.

In Queen Elizabeth national park now. Finally got to see a leopard. Landscape is amazing here.

I’m in Uganda now and today did Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Nation Park. Once we found them they let us right amongst them. Incredible. These are just some iPhone photos, not even with my good camera.

Today I fly to Uganda to start the second half of my trip. Some of my current group are going too, while others go home or to other tours. What an amazing group of strangers from all over the world that came together and formed a family for this amazing experience.

Took a balloon safari this morning and it was amazing. The best thing I got was this video of the wildebeest, part of the great migration, avoiding a lion. The lion enters at the top.

Moved on to Masai Mara today. Time for a quick safari drive in the park. This is the time of the great migration so the Wildebeests and zebras are arriving.

I don’t even know what to write about the Safari drive in Hakuru Lake Park today. So so so many animals. Even rare ones like the Black Rhino in addition to the White Rhino. Lots of flamingos that have been scarce in the park in recent years. Hyena. Lions lions lions.

Drive from Samburu to Lake Nakuru today. Tour of a small tea and coffee farm. Passed Mt Kenya. Lunch at the equator where we got the old water spinning in different directions demonstration (lol). And passed a Rhino sanctuary.

Some free time before my Safari tour starts. The Nairobi National museum is next door. Lots of rare human ancestor skulls. Also every school child in the country was there. They like to wave and say hi to foreigners. Even had to pose for a pic once.

Starting this special account to act as a journal of sorts. I’ll post pics of travels and other stuff. Here I am in my hometown of Denver just hours before heading to the airport and off to east Africa.
