Happy 99th Birthday to Sir David Attenborough, who I met on 8th Jan 1995 in Eason's book store, Dublin, at a book signing for his book called "The Private Life of Plants". I managed to get a selfie with my non-digital pocket camera & thank you to that unknown person in the queue who took the photo!

Saw this small raptor flying over Farmleigh House beside Phoenix Park in Dublin, Ireland on 05/04/2025 at 12:35. First thought it was Kestrel but then thought it could be Peregrine because of the height it flew & its short tail but it looked very pale. Any opinions gratefully appreciated. #Birds

Looking up at the sky tonight with no clouds, I can seea crescent moon with a very bright, unblinking planet at 5 o'clock. I know little or nothing about astronomy, unlike many bird species that use stars to navigate. Does anyone know what the planet is?
