If existential dread is getting you down, take a load off by allowing yourself to feel frustration and disbelief about how much money I spend each week on basically nothing

Last year, I planted more than 20 dahlia plants. When winter came, I dug up and sorted more than 80 tubers but the storage was too damp and they rotted. None of them survived. This year I’m trying to find joy in what I have 😊

As a mentally ill person, I find the categorization of MAGA republicans and 9/11 conspiracists and school shooting deniers “mentally ill” problematic. Maybe they ARE, but then surely we should be showing them empathy, rather than judgment? (Or maybe I’m just projecting how I’d like to be handled.)

Last spring, a robin made its nest on the corner of our fence. I worried it was too exposed and that the babies wouldn’t survive, but they did!

Cut to a year later, on the opposite fence post… word must have spread. (Not sure it’s a robin again as the nest shape looks different – TBC!)
