Husband, Father, loves books, golf, baseball, football, cooking, and playing games with my family.
I get what u r saying, but “mostly wealthy” is factually incorrect. There are about 28mil golfers in the U.S. as of 2024. The game is growing, the largest demo of new golfers is young players. CC golfers are def a big thing, municipal golfers are the majority.

This isn’t actually true. I grew up in an area with the second largest junior golf program in the country, full of blue collar workers and their kids in a blue state. The people who can AFFORD the Ryder Cup, however, are for the most part entitled Trump supporters who say whatever, just like Trump.

Spectacular. I cannot believe I’ve never thought to ask her about it. 🤦🏻

My sister works for the Michigan Apple Growers Association. They supply funding, advertising, and regulations. Farmers didn’t realizes (idiots) voting for Trump would mean losing funding, workers (ICE raids), and business. She takes calls from them weekly asking for financial help… complete morons.

That said, dealing with cancer is stressful for the one treated or family. Bluntness is not an inappropriate reaction either. Your brain sometimes needs to not thinking about others in that scenario. It’s completely understandable and acceptable.

Agreed, that is exceedingly hard to speak about in general. Often people, ND or not, feel awkward dealing with either sickness or recent death. While comments maybe be misplaced, they usually come from a place of care.

I understand, however that seems less about neurodivergent people and more about your personal preferences in communication. I am not part of that community, but worked with people within this group for years. Perhaps that is something you can make clear in communications with those close to you.

Isn’t the point of the OG post that the Neurodivergent population may relate through personal stories to really show they understand what the person is expressing? Again, you may not feel that, but to deny that is what is happening or call them a jerk really misses the point.

This is a strangely specific and not actually correct definition of empathy. It may be how you would like someone to convey empathy toward you, but that is a far cry from universality. Having the ability to understand and share the feelings of another, the actual definition, takes many forms.

It’s like Voldemort battling Sauron while King Joffrey sits aside and claps his tiny hands hoping for more play things.

Other than ignoring the LOOONG history RFK jr. has with vaccine denial, looking at this chart it seems like something big happened in 2019. Weird.

Maybe someone with a lot of political sway made some outrageous statements about vaccines that year, for some reason…

Whatever color makes you feel good because no one else should care and it’s your toes.

But also, probably bright red.

The Green Mile. Easily my favorite of Mr. King’s large catalog.
